This is the Dom-tower from the 13th century and is 112-meter-high. It is the tallest old church tower in the Netherlands and the symbol of the city and stands on Dom Square, the spot where Utrecht originated 2000 years ago.
The cathedral
of St Martin has a picturesque cloister garden (14th-15th C.). In the centre of the beautiful cloister garden is a fountain with a bronze figure of a monk writing (1913).
